Crying Out to God in Times of Trouble

God loves us more than we could possibly comprehend.  He knows how many hairs are on our head and He tells us in his Word that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  (Matthew 10:30 and Romans 8:38-39)

Life gets messy.  Sometimes we have the tendency to pray to God only when we need Him to step in and save us.  We want to live our life the way we want to live it, and when the going gets tough then we pray for help.  But we forget that we are supposed to "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33)  Notice how it says "and His righteousness".  Jesus's message was always 'Repent for the kingdom of God is near'.  (Matthew 4:17)  He wants us to seek after Him and show that we are not just in it for the blessings and help He can provide.  God knows our heart and our sincerity to want to change our life for Him.  If we want His blessings in our life then we need to put Him first and ask Him for help to change.  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Don't wait for tomorrow might be too late. (Romans 6:23 & James 4:14)

God says to us that He sets before us life or death, blessings or curses- now choose life.  Deuteronomy 30:19

Read Deuteronomy 30 to see just what God is promising to those who turn to Him with all their heart and soul.
